I’m Anna Waack, a designer from Brazil, tackling agro financial market complexities at Traive.

Formerly, I worked at XP Inc., a famous financial broker in Brazil, with +20 years acting on the market. There, I lead projects focused on rethinking the app experience on empowering users that don’t use financial advisory services to find the best financial products for themselves.

Before that, I worked at Nubank, a digital bank. There I worked at the Investments Business Unit designing, launching, and evolving the Caixinhas product, helping users save money while abstracting the complexity of the investments world. This project put Nubank on the map as one of the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies of 2023 by Fast Company. Read the article.

Previously I designed at VTEX, a worldwide known e-commerce platform. There I crafted digital products for the retail community. Before that, I worked at Globo, the largest media-tech company in Latin America. There, I've helped to build products such as Globoplay, Gshow, Globoesporte, and many others.

As a designer, I seek to understand business goals and user needs. My process involves crafting products based on data and lots of testing to identify and solve real problems. I believe in building solutions that scale through systems by articulating precise mental models that support long-lasting pervasive experiences.

Above everything you just read, I believe in detangling chaotic scenarios with goodwill, teamwork, and a smile on my face. I think that together is always better than alone and that there are no things such as less or more important problems to be solved: when a group of talented people works together and is eager to build something great, opportunities are sizeless and major results are design guided and always around the corner. And I'm here to collaborate with the team to reach them.

The road so far

XP Inc.

2023 - 2024

At XP Inc. I face the challenge of productizing the potential of financial advisory into digital experiences that are consumed in a self-driven way.

I empower mass retail investors by creating bridges between them and financial consulting that scales digitally and systemically through the designs I craft for their digital bank apps.

This involves challenges such as managing multiple stakeholders from different disciplines across the company, as well as technically leading cross Business Units projects. An example of this is the project I led to redesign and scale the experience of consuming investment product shelves.

Nubank

2020 – 2023

At Nubank, I worked in the company's Investments business unit, facing the challenges of democratizing investments for the mass-retail public.

I was the product designer accountable for shipping the Caixinhas experience, one of the most significant projects ever launched by the company, that enabled users to organize money while seeing it yield, blurring the line between saving and investing.

VTEX

2020 – 2021

At VTEX I was responsible for tackling challenges related to VTEX's Orders Management System. This module is one of the platform's core experiences and it's used by millions of retailers daily to orchestrate their stores' orders.

The OMS is the place where all VTEX's systems meet and provides actionable information for users to administrate their clients' orders. This required me to focus on building strong information architecture bases for my artifacts as well as to systemically think about my solutions and how they are reasonably interconnected with other VTEX products.

Globo

2016–2019

At Globo, I had the opportunity to design diversified segmented products such as Globoplay (video streaming), Gshow (entertainment news portal), and Globoesporte (sports news portal).

Given that different segments presented different challenges, I was able to develop essential skills such as developing digital products in a data-oriented way, which empowered a designer to think pragmatically and assertively.

I also worked on news portals that requested consistent experiences between one another, which allowed me to develop my sense of designing for scalability and enhanced my systematic way of thinking. This enabled significant contribution to the company design system, using it as a tool to design disruptive solutions with speed and quality.
